ROLLINS COLLEGE IS A HAPPY PLACE

Rollins College was ranked the 12th happiest school in the country, and #1 in Florida.

When I was there, I was pretty damn happy. That was in the late 80's. When my brother was there in the early 80's, he was pretty happy. When my folks went there in the early 60's, they were really happy.
What I'm trying to tell you is, if you want your college experience to be happy (not to mention in an awesome location), then you should give Rollins a look.
Having grown up in the northeast, I was dying to go somewhere where winter didn't exist and going to class was going to involve no more than a t-shirt, shorts and sandals. Mission accomplished.
If you enjoy the smaller school experience, this is a great place. Real good division 2 athletics too. Plus you are right next to Orlando and very close to Daytona Beach.
Rollins College. Happy place. I'm just saying.

One Man's Take on the New NFL Season

my friend John Candido is a serious NFL number-cruncher. He just put out his projections for the upcoming season.

make sure to check the entire web site out so you understand the philosophy behind the numbers.
it's also a very useful sight during the regular season if you like to try and figure out who may win games by a certain margin.

Madden 12

I taped my yearly podcast with Bill Simmons to talk about the game. it should also be available for iTunes
http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=6907297

follow up to the free agency element discussed in the podcast: if you press the triangle button during the free agency bidding, it stops the clock, calls up your roster breakdown and allows you to see what you need. Once you click on "restart the bidding" the clocks start going again. Still kind of crazy.

here's the online doctrine of etiquette I wrote last year with some tweaks

Humpday Humblebrag Day (part 1)

by Gus Ramsey

Today on Twitter I started Humday Humblebrag Day. I asked people what was their greatest athletic achievement. For the record, mine is either the tip-in I had to win my HS league hoop championship my senior year or the four dunks I had in one game (including a two-handed put back off a teammate's missed jumper) in an intramural game at Rollins College. #thiswhitedudehadhops #humblebrag
Here are your responses, including a much better name for the day.
